Subject: Review: CD-ROM Version of Bentley
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252"

Hi Volks:

I have a legal copy of the Bentley CD, and I want to give you my impressions of it.

It is NOT just a scanned version of the print edition, it has search capabilities;

The line drawings are brighter, clearer, and much easier to read than the print version;

The wiring diagrams are more difficult to use, because of the scrolling required, and the smaller number of circuits on each page/screen;

For everything but electrical work, it is an improvement, IMHO. It's just easier to follow the diagrams when they are so big, bright and clear. (Well, maybe it's just because tomorrow, my eyes will be 43 YO).

It requires a connection to the internet (to enter the program's serial number), and begin installation. (If you have a personal firewall executing, it will bomb - so turn just it off for a bit)

I cannot provide any copy's to listees - the disk won't work for others now.... Sorry!
