Well, certainly it is easier for the workshop to remove the tranny.  It is
not always easier for the little guy who works under the car.
If you have an engine lifter, it is easier to take the engine out, in my
opinion.  There are more things to remove and install but it is manageable.
If you have transmission lifter, I think it is easier to remove the tranny.
Talking about working under the car without a car hoist.  The transmission
is real heavy and hard to handle.  You don't want to drop it on the ground
or on yourself.
