Remove the transmission it is easier and there is less to unhook and hook
back up.  Just get either a set of ramps or jack stands for the van and a
floor jack to lower and raise the tranny (one with wheels).  Then support the
engine with a different jack.  Unhooking the CV axles is the hardest part and
not that bad if you clean out the bolt heads with a pick.  Hope this helps.
