Subject: tranny makes grinding-like sounds when it is warm
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

In my vanagon z34, the van runs fine and the tranny shifts somewhat smoothly (other than into first) when the tranny is cold. However, when the transaxle has warmed up, the tranny makes a grinding noise. The shifting is the same, but the tranny makes more noise. When I release the clutch pedal, and the van starts to move, the noise goes away. Also, there is clutch chatter.

My INEXPERT evaluation: warped flywheel? or not enough tranny fluid? or not enough clutch fluid? or bad front engine mount?

Thanks in advance, peace. out.
