Hi all Discovered something interesting the other day. When I open my heater control, the engine temperature drops substantially. It appears that the heater control is a valve which stops the circulation of engine coolant thru the heater circuit. This can be a very useful arrangement because the volume of cold, stationary water in the heater pipes appears to be enough to significantly cool the entire (?) engine in an emergency.
