Hello, I posted this list for the first time sunday the 22nd asking if the 86 Syncro that I found with the new standard tranny, good body and great interior was worth $4500(In Maine). Thanks for all the helpful posts. We'll,I got a phone call from my landlord last night and he said he checked it out yesterday afternoon. The bad news is that he found a coolant leak oozing from the head gasket. He called his brother, the current owner and he agreed to drop the price $300.I was told that to replace the head gasket It would cost me between $300 to $600 depending on broken bolts ect.. The way I see it is that it's better to fix now and get it out of the way(planning on traveling this summer)then to get stranded and have to burn extra vacation time stuck at some garage. So I guess my question is does $300 to $600 for a head gasket job sound right.I really fell in love with this Syncro when I test drove it last week but I'm new to this and could use some advice.Thanks,Ben. |
