IMO the best looking and practical rack for a Vanagon are the ones made by Conferr. They are made in different sizes for different. I have a picture of one on a Vanagon sent to me by a listee who was selling one (he sold it). Let me know if you want to see what they look like. He may even respond to your posting. Can't remember exactly who it was.
