Fellow Vanagon OWNERS and supporters:

I just got in from driving my new Vanagon home from San Fransisco to Boise. (26mpg) I've been looking to buy for almost two years!!! After a few thwarted attempts, I got one!

Its a white '85 upgraded with square headlight grill, carat alloy wheels, air damn (chin spoiler) under the '85 bumper, Fog lamps, and just over 10k on the EuroSpec 2.0 inline conversion, mated too a 5 speed South African tranny.

Everybody say "COOL!"

As I recall, I saw it on this very List!

First order of business: fix the leak in the exhaust. DOES ANYONE KNOW the piping arrangement used in SA exhaust. it was discussed on the list a month or so ago.

Then, a new compressor for the air conditioner. And see what it'll take to get the wrinkle out of the right rear fender that these vans always seem to acquire.

The one thing this doesn't have that was on my wish list is the Carat/Wolfsburg seating. So if anyone is parting out a Carat or a Wolfy's interior (chris turner?), please think of ME!

Cory Hawkins with a very spunky lookin' '85 EuroSpec! (And the sliding door is SOOO SMOOOOTH!)

[8-)
