Hey there everyone!

Well, for those of you who didn't join the "2001 - A BUS ODYSSEY" group heading to Florida to see the Space Shuttle Endeavour launch, you missed a good time. On the way down, we did the "sleep in the Wal-Mart parking lot" routine (what a good deal). We lost one splittie at the rendezvous point in Atlanta prior to leaving and other than minor problems on the way home, the VW that failed on this trip was Chris and my '85 Vanagon Westy which blew a water pump! All the splitties and bay windows did great - leave it to the waterboxer! The campground in Titusville was right across the Indian River from the launch pad and we had an excellent view until the shuttle went into clouds. We were joined in Florida by Bill & Janet Colville from New Mexico driving their '63 (I believe) Double-Door Panel Van with a homemade (they

think) camper package inside. They were a lot of fun.

To find out more about the trip and the "Buses at the Beach" show in Jacksonville that weekend, come to our monthly get together at Maui Taco next Wednesday (May 2nd) at 7:00 p.m. for food, drinks and conversation.

Also coming up Saturday, May 19th is Dave Easterwood/Allen Becker's 8th Annual Georgia Vintage VW Show in Marietta. He hopes all of you air-cooled types will PLEASE bring out your vehicles for the show. Those of us driving waterboxers need to attend the show for support. Most of you should have

received my email about looking into camping areas north of Marietta for the Saturday night after the show. Again, PLEASE let me know if you are interested. I know some of us will be camping and if it helps get you to the show, let's get a few campsites and make a night of it!

Circle Yer Wagens in Sevierville Tennessee is coming up May 5-6th also. I know a few PST folks are planning to go.

Hope you can make it to MAUI TACO NEXT WEDNESDAY - MAY 2ND!!!

Keep those VWs running! Peace.
