Subject: Tail Light Up date-Week 2
Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII

So far the increased candlepower, in my tail light housings, has not caused any melting of the lexan/plastic lenses, and I had an interesting event happen on the way home from work this evening.

After getting off the expressway onto the road to home, I noticed a vehicle on my butt while sitting at a red light.

I ignore it, and the next thing I know someone is tapping on my window.

"Hi, my name is Gary, and I have been following you for the last 3 miles. I also own a Vanagon, and want to know where, or how you got your back end so bright."

My response at this time was to say," hey lets not talk about this here, lets go up the road a piece, and there is a small strip mall were we could discuss this"

After getting there, it turns out this guy is from Indiana, and he saw the bright lamps on my Van, and was interested, in doing the same, because it seems his had gotten hit while sitting at a light, in his home town, and he had seen me going down the road and followed me.

I thought ---this guy is nuts, but I explained on how to achieve the carnival look on the back end of his van, and eliminate the acetylene lamp treatment.

I thought this was all pretty neat that this fellow Vanagonite took the time to notice and pursue me to find out what was going on.

Anyway, no problems, and obviously noticeable rear lamps.

And the back-up lights are out of this world!!

Very bright, and you can actually see where your going in reverse, at night, without adding any extra appendages, to the bumper.

I'm very pleased with the whole set-up.

Later,
