a) bra

The best is still the genuine Volkswagen bra. I sell it for $105 after listmember discount. This puts it slightly higher in price but it's worth it. It's designed specifically for the '86-91 (rectangular headlight) Vanagons, whereas all of the aftermarket ones are '82-85 "one size fits all." It also has the Vanagon logo embroidered on it. Very sharp looking, and fits perfectly as you'd expect from an original-equipment product. Part # ZVW 193 008 on my website. (Sorry, a pre-86 bra is no longer made by VW, although we do have them for EuroVans.)

c) Shocks......saw some off road shocks from australia...any info?

Lots of differing opinions here. I like the KYB's as a budget shock (under $25 each with lifetime warranty), and Bilstein as a premium one. In the middle price-wise is Boge, which is the original-equipment Vanagon shock. It does not offer as "tight" handling as the KYB or Bilstein but does have a smoother ride. In this regard, tastes vary, and you'll find listmembers who variously love or hate any of these alternatives. Cannot comment on the OME shocks from personal experience.
