Jon...

some of the guys on the list may have other ideas, but the hesitant take off is not unusual... if you don't give them enough gas they all seem to do that. One thing that might help are triple tip or quad tip plugs... I use the quads, and mine only rarely hesitates... but some guys say the triples are even better and will cure that problem. I haven't tried them yet.

Also, if it's a digifant system (I think all the 89s are digifant, not digijet which will not work), you might consider doing the chip upgrade for the engine. It will increase your power 10-15% and your mileage about the same. Let me know if you want details. I did it with my 89 syncro westy and really love the results. Also I've been running synthetic oil in the gearbox as well as front diff and tranny for some time now... love that too. Just have to be careful... it's thinner and can leak more easily than dino oil.

When you say a coolant leak, but you don't see it leaking, how do you know? Is it just using coolant from the reservoir?
