congratulations! Don't worry about the reliability. First thing you should do put good strong lightbulbs (halogens, 55 or 65W) for backup, tail lights etc. in. In case, the engine really gives you trouble, the emitted photons will propel your Westy and you slowly but steadily homewards (or wherever you put the nose of your Westy) :-).
