Sorry about that last email. I was too quick on the trigger and hit the send key. Chris, I wouldn't worry about what others have to say about your van as long as your happy with it. You would rarely experience something like that in San Francisco where the VW bus is still king. What you experienced is not that unusual. Last month, I was driving my brother's new Carrera convertible. While we were chatting at a red-light, a guy in an old rusty Chevy Nova came flying by and said something like "Hey it's another POS Volkswagen!" I mouthed off "Thank you" and gave him a thumbs up which actually annoyed him and had his buddies in the car laughing at him. Another time, I had a former co-worker saw me driving my Syncro and asked if my business was going to the dogs since I seem to be forced to drive a "VW Bus". He was driving a 8 year old Volvo. I told him that yeah business was bad. It wasn't worth explaining to him that my 16" Syncro Double Cab is worth more than his Volvo. Or for that matter, that I have 13 other cars at home. Doesn't matter what you drive. People will poke fun out of ignorance, jealousy, or just plain meanness. You did the right thing. Ignore, ignore, ignore. BenT |
