Two more that I thought I'd mention, having seen both of them recently. Don't blink or you'll miss these!

#1) Any of those "Dangerous Police Chases" shows -- the now famous one where a guy steals a military tank and goes on a rampage throughout southern LA. He's on a suburban looking street, and just before he rips through a motorhome, I'm pretty sure the tank goes right over and completely flattens an 89 or 90 Vanagon, light blue or white in color. It's hard to tell because the video is bad, and the camera angle is almost directly overhead. Needless to say, the Vanagon wasn't much of a match for the tank, but then again, neither was a concrete highway divider.

#2) James Bond 007 "Octopussy", starring Roger Moore, and one of the worst Bond movies ever made. Anyhow, near the end of the film, as he's trying to make his way to the American Military base in West Germany to stop a bomb, he steals an Audi, and the Police give chase in BMW's. There's one shot of him racing up towards the camera, and going in the opposite direction is a Bright Red Vanagon, not sure which year though.

One day I'm going to grab all those clips I've seen and try and edit them all together into a rather interesting video.

Oh, and we've got another convert -- my mechanic, who usually drives a bay window bus (and was jealous of my Vanagon), just got his hands on an 87 Vanagon with an automatic tranny. His is blue as well, so we might be able to swap some interior and exterior parts with my 85 (hehehe)...

TTYL everyone! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- E-mail: techrat@vm.com URL: http://www.vm.com/ http://www.obsolyte.com -- where the antique is elYte!!
