The spring clamps will not hold up in strong wind.  You need 6 small conduit
clamps held together with a bolt and wing nut so that you end up with 3
doubled up clamps.  Cut a small piece of rubber to line one side of the clamp
to protect your paint where it grips under your raingutter.  Take your tent
poles and roll the awning around them and set the pole in your gutter so that
the fabric comes over the top of the pole.  Place one clamp on each end of
the pole and one in the center.  Place the clamps so that one side is over
the pole and the other side is under your gutter.

The German awnings I sell have a pocket sewn into the edge to slide the pole
into, and include the poles, stakes, clamps and guy ropes.
