I know they convey mostly air, but the crankcase is vented into the intake system so I think it would be wise to determine if any hose you plan to substitute is rated for gas and oil. Although, the SBR coolant hose of which I am familiar is oil and grease resistant, I do not know if it can tolerate gasoline.
