Steve...I would think that there is much more than just a syncro that is
bad...At the very least, the 1st gear and the 1/2 slider assy is toast
from popping out...there is probably too much end play in the pinion
shaft also from bad bearings....I would never just do syncro's in one of
these at that mileage..$995 for a rebuild (plus shipping) with a 3 yr
warranty would get you safely down the road without wondering if your
cell phone is charged enough to call the tow truck when it self destructs
on you...You also have the dreaded 3/4 slider hub crack looming, which
will also leave you sitting.
