hey all, my 90 is running hot. i changed the tstat with a vw 87c dgree tstat. this seemed to run hot. when i tested it by heating it in water, it did not open until 210 dgrees f. this being a little off i changed it out with another vw 87c tstat which i tested in water at 210 f also. 190 is roughly the temp conversion so both these seem hot. two in a row within months apart from each other? the next thing i did is i felt the radiator and the bleeder side of it was hot but the other side (driver side) was cool. blocked radiator? my temp needle is riding high in the temp zone with the fan coming on frequently. what is going on here? incidently this is after doing an engine overhaul. i realize that during a break in it is supposed to be hot but i feel it should not be this hot. i know my van well and i know that this is very wrong. any clues? also water pump and 90% of coolant lines are new. what's up? jason 90gl _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com |
