My only experience with air cooled vans is my 81 with 200K on it. The compression is down, they are all in the 90s. Have been for 10 years. It runs great, my mechanic says he would rather not rebuild it because it has not exhibited any problems at all over the years. I think I might would like it to be higher, but if you drove the van, you would not think it was a problem.

That's just my limited experience. Others have probably seen more than I have :) I would love to have an air cooled westy. If you like the price, you ought to grab it IMO

Good luck to you.

John
