Subject: Purchase of 15" steel Mercedes wheels

Volks, Syncronauts, et al.,

Today I ordered 5 15" Mercedes steel wheels for my Syncro. They were $40 apiece as was expected, and shipping for the five was only $34.11. Total bill $234.11. Tirerack has a warehouse close by in Delaware so this may be lower than many of you would pay.

I probably will order my 5 BFG AllTerrain AT/KO LT215/75R15/C tires from etires.com. Slightly less than $97 per tire, free UPS ground shipping, free road side assistance program, road hazard insurance included, email tire maintenance reminders, all included along with the name of installers, though I will probably use a shop that did a lot of work for me before the list rescued my pocket book and took my time. {:<)

NTB (National Tire & Battery) quoted me about $138 per tire installed with the road hazard insurance. Others were as high as $155 per tire.

Anybody had any experiences with etires.com which would suggest that this is a bad idea, good idea?
