Take your van to a shop that has a infrared heat meter. With the engine cold before starting, start it up and have the mechanic take readings in various places as the engine warms. You can tell all kinds of things about what is going on. it's an education. What you learn should help in diagnosing your heat problem.

BTW, this tool was developed by NASA to read temperatures at a distance before launch, during ingnition, throttle-up, and lift-off. Later the tool migrated to the race circuit mechanics then to the general auto shops. A real handy tool to have.

Good Luck,

John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
