You should disconnect the torque converter from the drive plate. I believe it is three bolts, and there is an access hole on the top side of the case. I'm not sure if you can pull the engine with the torque converter attached, but if you do, you will make one heck of a mess as most of the fluid in the converter will pour out.

Yeah, it's me. I couldn't do it, at least without giving it a try. I decided to pull that engine and do some refreshing of the internals. So, my question, when pulling the engine and separating the engine from the AT tranny (no I don't have a bentley), does one pull the torque converter with the engine, or do you unbolt it from a flex plate and leave it in place?

Just looking for a bit of a primer, it's comming out tommarow.
