Manual or auotmatic transmission.....??? For an auto..just drop the pan and make a mess...always happens...there is a filter screen above the wierd looking oblong cover in the middle...2 screws and its off..clean it carefully..simply reinstall & refill...easy..then, get the VW 17 mm tool to open the differential fill plug on the pass side of the diff and stick your finger in the hole to see if any oil is there...top off if nec with 90 wt gear oil...if a bunch of oil comes out when you pull the plug, then the seals between the trans & diff sections are leaking...next step..save money for repair... if you ahve a manual trans..remove the fill & drain plugs (in that order) with the same 17 mm tool..drain & refill with synthetic gear oil...Redline MT 90 is the best for your rig...Have a blast..
