I can't tell by looking at the bently but is it possible that the clutch disk is wrong side out causing your problem? Joe ----- Original Message ----- From: Zoltan To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Tuesday, May 08, 2001 2:58 PM Subject: Engine won't go in
I am trying for two days now and for some reason it just would not go in to fit the transmission. I did this many times, and it is a few minutes job normally. This time there is no luck. I use a centering tool. I even measure it around with a caliper. I use the same clutch plate that was on before. Nothing is obstructing in the pilot bearing hole. The two bodies are lined up well. I wiggle, turn, push, curse, sweat, hope, nothing... What can be the hold up? Zoltan
