Wellll....I have got to chime in here. Andrew Fox wrote: > I'd offer 1-2 K...I got ripped off. I should have paid 1K. Bottom line is if you're looking for a deal on a Westy don't assume that the seller is VW enthusiast too! To prove my point just ask the average Joe on the street what he thinks an 89 Van that needs work is worth? IMHO, the average Joe never drove, does not drive and will never drive our Vehicles Wonderful (warts and all). > It's sad but true but if you want a really good deal on a Westy you'll never get if from someone who advertises it on this list. OH BOY! I HAVE TO DISAGREE COMPLETELY. I bought my '84 from a listee last year. A better PO you could not ask for. The asking price was reasonable and he was completely honest as to his evaluation of the vehicle...in fact he was too conservative in his estimations of the vehicle. every Westy owner that has seen mine can't believe the deal we made. Additionally, he knew far more about Westies than I did and passed on a lot of little things that I have really since appreciated. No flames intended...I simply have had a completely different experience.
