The WBX was designed to operate within a certain temperature range. The bottom end of that range is spec'ed at 87 C. If you live in a really hot climate or live in a hot climate where there is a lot of stop and go traffic the cooler 80 C 'stat will be ok. Summer in Atlanta is a good place for an 80C 'stat, as is Birmingham, AL. where I am now. In Alaska where I lived for 30 years, in winter Anchorage, Ak or Kenai/Soldotna, AK would need an 87C 'stat most defintely. In Fairbanks, Alaska I have seen 95 degrees F in the summertime, yet in winter I have seen it get to -45 degrees F!! With those kinds of extremes you mount a winter/summer campaign. In Winter its battery hot plates and block/oil pan heaters and hot thermostats. In summer, you take it all off, or disengage it, and change the thermostat.
