For a Westy use the heavier of the two load ranges. I have had a set of Michelin MXT's on mine for a while now and love them. The PO had a set of Goodyear Wrangler AT's installed that just didn't have the guts to support the Westy -- max load rating was down around 1200 lbs (not good on a 5200 lb vehicle). I didn't price the Yoko's when I bought the MXT's but I understand the MXT's are more expensive.

Not sure what you mean by 'starting to break down' but unless there is an obvious reason (constant curb surfing or some suspension defect effecting just one tire) and the tires have the correct load rating, I'd do a real close check on the other three and probably replace all four. Tires never go out in the driveway.

Any suggestions which is better, how good is Tire Rack, and how much longer should I trust my passenger tires? Thanks Pam 87 Westy >>
