I've posted this before but most of you probably missed it. A friend of mine
here near San Francisco is selling an 84 with an inline conversion for
$1,500. It's a very good running van in need of some minor body work. Not
rusty. It is a 1.8 instead of a 2.0 but it's well worth the asking price in
conversion parts alone.
I have no doubt that this thing can drive to SoCal w/o breaking down. The
conversion was not a kit but installed by a shop which happened to be one of
the Eurospec Inline 4 dealers (way before Tiico was around).

There may be some Vanagons in the upcoming Bug-O-Rama in Sacramento in two
weeks. I know that the only 16" Syncro Double Cab 1.6 td in the US <known to
me = ) > will be there.
