Hi Andrew,

This link agrees with vanagon.com: http://reality.sgi.com/rogerb/Diesel/VW_VIN.html#4 but if you plug the VIN into the java applet at this link: http://home.earthlink.net/~megantic/vwvin/VwVinApp.html you get the following

VIN Number: WV2ZZZ252EH063269 Model Year 1984 Model Type VW Transporter, Vanagon Model Style VW MPV made in Europe Body Type European Car Engine Type European Car Rest Type European Car Plant Made Hannover

If that's the VIN on your dash you might want to crawl underneath and see if it agrees with the VIN stamped on the frame.
