I got 5 years out of a $49.95 battery.
I just replaced it and am using the old one for occasional jump starts or
12 v source for testing various auto electric.
I would think anything more than a good standard battey would be overkill
unless you have a weekender with the portable electric fridge.

I only need to run my engine twice a day for 15 minutes to keep my
battery up wile camping. I run the radio, 12V TV/VCR Combo, Interior
lights, Portable CD player on an adapter.

Please note - During the past 17 years of operation, several gigabytes of Vanagon mail messages have been archived. Searching the entire collection will take up to five minutes to complete. Please be patient!
