You may need a new "O" Ring seal for the coolant probe. I have also found that the threads in the neck of the expansion tank where the probe screws in will sometimes give up the ghost as will the threads on the probe itself.

Another thing, I had a problem with the thermostat sticking. It would back pressure the system and blow the probe completely out of the expansion tank. Very scarey, but wasn't harmfull.
