This is a great response.... I like this recommendation as it certainly would apply well to me. Whenever I have a problem on the road, I have a bad knee-jerk reaction of simple panic and it makes for my mind to go blank for solutions to whatever the dilemma is. So, David, thank you for this and I think I'll carry a tea service in my vehicles from now on.....

On top of this valuable piece of advice, I'd also add that you bring a large capacity bucket-o-experience (BOE). Where can you can get this BOE? Well, I've built up mine through getting my hands dirty and doing as much of my own preventive maintenance as possible. Has this "always" helped? Well no, it hasn't. But I don't always remember the situations that were easy to fix or anticipate. But I've gotten out of more potentially expensive situations more than once just by paying attention to the needs of my VWs/Nissan rather than passively waiting for problems to pop up. So get yourself some experience and start filling your bucket now so down the road, you won't always be at the mercy of your vehicle's temperment...

Cheers!

Steven
