Hello, I used AlumaSeal for 60,000 miles before I overheated the engine when a belt broke at 75 mph. After that, the AlumaSeal would leak about 5 drops a day if the car wasn't driven every day. If driven daily, it didn't leak. So, I did the JBWeld trick on the leaky head. I chose AlumaSeal because I figured that the aluminum would be sacrificial if the coolant was too acid and thus reduce corrosion. Summer temperatures exceed 110F here and the Vanagon doesn't overheat, so I think that I have not harmed my radiator. The only side effect is that the AlumaSeal can crud up the expansion tank pressure cap. This takes about 2 years. The first symptom of the pressure cap failure is coolant loss after shutting off the hot engine. I have learned how to disassemble the pressure cap and clean it.
