Hello everyone. I'm new to this list. I have a 1988 Vanagon GL Wolfsburg w/Weekender Package, A/C, and Automatic Transmission. I'm in the process of rebuilding my Automatic. I have a dilema. Two of the thrust washers (plastic) I need to replace have the part# 010-323-291B embossed on them. The VW Dealer tells me this is a bad #. The VW parts microfilm shows this part as 010-323-291, and is a metal washer. No one around here can tell me if VW canned the plastic part for the metal part. Can anyone on the list shed some light on this? I need to know if it's ok to use the metal washer in place of the plastic one. Thanks in advance. Jim Bowen |
