I have recently purchased my second westy, it's an 87 without the camping gear just the two bed's and table, the extra space is nice. I am in the process of changing the exhaust and noticed that the heads have a little coolant leaking around the rubber head gasket, I new this was a possibility and am prepared to fix it if needed. My problem is I never noticed any coolant leaks and I don't no how bad it is since I have the exhaust off I can't run the van to check it. So the question is should I install the exhaust and see how bad it is leaking? Or just do the repair it now? Can these heads leak a little and still get me where I need to go? If I do the repair is it common to just change the gasket's and get a good seal, or will I have to replace the heads also? And if anyone has done the job let me no how it went? TIA Rob... |
