I've been to Huntsville State park several times, it's a nice park. I
always look for parks that have good shade trees so any park on
Interstate 35, 45, 20 east or south from Dallas have pretty good shade.
I've never been west of Mineral Wells except to Possum Kingdom but I've
heard that Granberry is nice and also the Park at Dianasur Valley is
nice.
If you get locations on possible participants and put pins in a map I
think you can probably get fairly central with a good State, Core of
Engineers, Brazos River Authority park. Hey I'm up for Lake-O-the pines
or Caddo lake in East Texas but there are a lot of choices in between.
For a first time I think Lake Whitney State park would be very good.
Plenty of basic tent sites, plenty of RV spots with
water/electric/sewage, beach area, 20x20 Shelters if you want a common
place to have a meeting or combined cookout.
So who's keeping a list?
Are you willing to make the location map?
