Well, if you come West on I-70, you'll pass through Kansas City (which, as Horace said, has more fountains than either Paris or Rome). If you can spend some time, check out the Plaza... It's the first "planned" shopping center in the US. Has a Spanish architectural theme. Lots of upscale stores, sidewalk cafes, etc. Another idea would be to take Route 50 through Missouri. This will take you close to the Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Reservoir. A bit more scenic. In any case, if you decide to come through KC, let me know, and I'll send you more info.
