Instructions to make a one man brake bleeder. (no wife required) #1. Get an empty 1 pint brake fluid bottle (plastic) #2 Get a piece of rubber hose that will tightly go over your bleeder screws/valves (about 5 foot) #3 Drill a hole in the bottom of the empty 1 pint brake fluid bottle, the hole needs to be tight on the hose to hold it. #4 Insert your hose in until it bottoms out against the cap #5 Loosten the bleeder screw on your caliper, leave the small box end wrench on the valve #6 Push the rubber hose onto the loostened bleeder valve, hang the empty bottle with the hose over the top of your wheel so the lid is pointing down towards the ground. #7 Go to the front seat and start pumping your brakes, add fluid as necessary #8 The fluid from your brakes will begin to fill the bleeder bottle, if you have the hose pushed in all the way down to the cap you will have a no air column of fluid. Check the fluid in the bottle by feeling the weight, 1/2 full is usually enough to have purged the line. #9 If you have a hydrauilc slave cylinder on your clutch, do it the same way. Cost is about $1.00 for the five feet of vacum line.
