Terry is yanking your chain. However, there is a partial truth in his statement.

There were 2-door Vega bodies with VW flat-4 engines in the late 70's. I forget what they were called but a small company made a run of kit cars which bolted a Vega replica body on a VW bug chassis. It featured a full length horizontal grill in the rear. Needless to say, not very many were ever sold. Just enough to support half-page ads in Kit Car Magazine for a few months.
