Chuck, We are up here in the "Piney Woods" just north east of you.. (Village Mills" The Big Thicket National Preserve offers some nice hiking areas.. no camping though. However, there are numerous state parks in the area... Village Creek SP, Martin Dies Jr. SP, Lake Livingston and Huntsville SP to name a few.

As Alan made clear... it doesn't really matter which park you choose, take your mosquitoe spray.!

So... you in Houston, Alan in Austin and we are just north of Beaumont in Village Mills.. Hmm are there other Texas Westy's/Vanagons drivers on the list.? And.. should we arrange a Summer/Fall campout.?
