Subject: 2nd Battery Again
Content-Type: text/html

Thanks to all who responded to my question about the 2nd battery, I've decided to try the normal (not deep cycle) route, mostly for cost and the experiences of others who say they seem to get a reasonable life span this way. I have to replace my original one anyway, so having two new ones makes sense. With my 85 though, Bentleys shows 86 and up for the wiring but nothing for earlier. I have the small silver junction box under the driver seat, but still don't know exactly how to connect the new battery up. Is is just an addtional positive wire from the house battery to the external, or do I need to have a regulator or solenoid in line to prevent the extra battery from drawing too much and lessening the charge to the house battery? I know Bus Depot sells a kit, but doesn't look like much more than I have under the seat allready.

Brian

85 Westy GL.

Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
