I have seen stuff like this in the following catalog:

You can buy raw displays, tuners, etc.  Most of their stuff is generic low
cost items.

P.S.  I chose the Kenwilfy method of buying the Philips 13" TV / VCR combo
from WalMart and a 600W power inverter.  However, my 16 guage cable through
a 30 Amp fuse could not carry enough current from the battery for the
startup surge.  I guess I'll have to use 8 guage wire and / or a big
capacitor for this inverter to work.
