Paul; It sounds like it is flooding. Is that an accurate assesment? By pinching off the hose you stop feeding gas so the engine can burn off what it has. By all means check out the spray pattern, one at a time, with the coil wire (HV) grounded so no spark is produced. This test even scares me so high confidence is needed.
