I was in a local driveline shop and noticed a driveshaft disconnect kit which could be fitted to almost any vehicle. I think it would work on a syncro. Installed price was $900 cdn or $590 US. Motorhome drivers use them when they tow their cars with all 4 wheels on the ground.

On another topic: I wish I lived closer to CA, sure wish I could have gone to the Hollister Hills event. Alberta is a 3 day drive, I don't even think there are any other listees in Alberta.
