We packed up the Dawn Treader and headed to Connecticut for my nephew's college graduation and a little family reunion. The original plan was to stop at either Hickory Run (I may have that wrong) or Promised land in PA. But we decided to push on to Hammonessett in Conn. The Westy ran beautifully. Smooth, 70 mph, about 20 mpg. The hills on 80 were a challenge, but not too bad. The only issue is that I think the starter is going. After a while when we are traveling, It will not start. No solenoid noise, no nothing. But if I bang on the starter, it starts. This seems like a burned spot on the starter. Any thoughts? Anyway, Hammonessett Park is great. It is on the LI Sound. It was deserted. The only people there were some sort of kite group flying the most amazing kites. There is a beach and a rocky point. There is a great path which leads through some dunes. The park is 30 minutes from New Haven. My Sister et al were paying $120 per night per person to live in the Dorms, and share a bathroom. Somehow the $12 we were paying for the two of us felt pretty good.
