Subject: VW logo on rear hatch?
Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Last weekend I got together with the only other member of the Vanagon list that lives in my area and we compared notes on our vans. Amazingly, we both have 87 Vanagon GL Wolfsburgs (his silver, mine "Wolfram Gray"). As I was leaving, I noticed that he has a large VW logo on the back hatch. Mine doesn't have this and doesn't look like it ever did. I have never really paid much attention to the back of other Vanagons (on the rare occasion that I see them). My question is..which hatch is "correct"? Was this logo standard for that year? A mid-year design change or what? Yea, I know, it's a nitpicky issue, but I was just wondering.

By the way, if there are any other listmembers out there that live in the Gulf South region (New Orleans to Pensacola) and would like to get together, please email me. All of the outings and camping trips mentioned on the list have me in the mood for a get together. I joined my local VW club, but with the exception of a few New Beetle owners, I'm the only watercooled guy there.
