Seems like you could have picked up some temporary shocks from a junk yard,
sent your bilsteins in to san diego, and put the new (free!) bilsteins in
once they arrived.
Moral of the story:
Keep your bad shocks in case you ever need to cash in on the lifetime
warranty.
A closely related moral is:
Keep your old springs if you ever switch them out.
This way, if you're not happy with the new you can still go back to the old
springs. (I could've used this moral a few years ago).
I think I tossed the orginal shocks when I put the bilsteins in. What a
dummy I am.
