Larry,

I believe the "good old days" preceded the advent of the tubeless tire. Out of absolute necessity, I once changed a tubeless automobile tire using tire irons. It sucked so badly, I was cured of any temptation to do it again. Have you ever heard it said, "The good old days weren't"?
