I think I see your problem right there! All American Transporters (Vanagons) are fuel-injected, without exception. The only plave you'll find NA Transporters are in the UK and certain other parts of Europe, so most folks here wouldn't know them ....

Your best bet would be to try to pick up the Haynes manual, which happens to be British. I know the NA engines are covered in this. AFAIK, they're not in Bentley.

>That is why I want to ask what is wrong with me; do I have to ask in other >terms?; talk only about non-related Vanagon things?; or just be quiet as a >foreign member in the list?

I'm also a 'foreign' member of the list! 8-) There are other folks out there who drive Transporters which may be NA (Andrew??).

I take it you're in the UK, then? If so, your best bet would be to hang out on usenet's uk.rec.cars.vw.airooled. The guys over there are well used to tuning dual-carb VW engines ...
